What do we look for in a legendary restaurant?

Inspired food beautifully prepared! Warm and respectful service. A feeling of celebration. A beautiful setting that lifts our spirits. A restaurant is a social place. We want good food and good conversation. Do we go to a fine restaurant just because we are hungry? Rarely. We go to share ourselves with one another.

And... we look for a great staff to make all this happen. Since we opened our doors in June of 1971, Genoa has been home to many talented and dedicated proprietors and staff members. My own experience at Genoa goes back to that first day. I've worked with incredible people over the years. I've seen that nothing is more important to a restaurant than a staff that respects its co-workers and its mission, and that can work together in a positive - often happy - manner. Under the leadership of Executive Chef Jeff Sprague and our dining room manager Andy Sprott, Genoa has a cohesion and an attitude that I believe is perhaps unequaled.

I am very grateful.
